Not too long ago, I would spend countless hours editing my photos for social media, blogging, and for products I sell online and my photos still looked horrible! I NEEDED to find a solution to speed up my workflow because quite frankly, my current editing situation was not cutting it.
So how did I FINALLY get my photos to go from terrible to professional? I started using mobile presets with Adobe Lightroom and was able to have beautiful photos with the click of a button! But with the endless amounts of presets available, how do you choose the right presets? And how can you make sure you are getting quality presets? We’ll cover all of that in this blog post!

What exactly are presets?
- Lightroom presets are predefined edits in Adobe Lightroom. Or simply put, photo filters. Presets allow you efficiently edit photos ( save time), and maintain consistency!
- The quality of my photos are important for my reselling business, my blog, social media, and so much more. Ever since I started using presets my life has changed!
Presets simplify my photo editing workflow / speed up the editing process
- Less time editing means more time for me to use on growing my business. It’s all about working smarter!
- I can easily edit with one click from my smartphone!
- This is especially true if you have a reselling business or online boutique. The faster you list your items, the faster they’ll sell. You’re not in the business of storing inventory. Get rid of it! That’s money waiting to be made!
Presets improve the quality of my photos
- First impressions matter and quality is also a reflection of your business / brand.
- For selling platforms like Poshmark, my product photos easily stand out in search results after using presets. I have seen an increase in sales after using presets for editing my photos. Quality matters.
Presets help me maintain style/ color consistency for branding purposes
- Ensures cohesiveness among various platforms I use (from my blog to social media).
- Strengthens brand identity and makes my content uniquely identifiable.
- They allow me to maintain a uniform and consistent look within my Instagram grids.
- For product listings, presets help me avoid a disjointed look when I have to edit 4-16 photos for one listing.
Tip: Before you purchase any presets, you will need to download the Adobe Lightroom mobile app (The mobile version is free to use so all you need to worry about is the presets).
How do I find a quality preset?
After downloading the Adobe Lightroom mobile app, the next step was figuring out WHERE I should get my presets.
First, I experimented with a couple of free presets. Let’s just say that you get what you pay for…. wouldn’t recommend it!
Next, I purchased a couple of those hyped up presets by famous influencers. I wasn’t too impressed and the quality was terrible. Not going to lie, I felt like I wasted my money and was pretty upset. Hey! At least I was able to save my readers from doing the same thing!
After doing more research, I FINALLY found some amazing presets by 123Presets. I purchased the Master Collection which includes 50+ presets from their top selling collections and I was blown away at the quality!
Pretty soon, all my friends were asking me how I edit my photos. (one of the reasons why i’m writing this blog post!).
Business Betch readers can get the same Master Collection I use by 123Presets for 93% off ! This collection includes 50+ presets total from 123Presets top 12 collections! (I actually paid more! So this is a great deal!). The Master Collection is a great option for those who are new to presets!

Tips for choosing a preset (if purchasing collections individually):
- Read the preset description
- Read the reviews
- Does the preset fit your brand style or personal style?
- Is the preset collection consistent with your branding? ( Ex: Clean, bright, minimal, etc.)
- If using a preset for product photography:
- I recommend choosing a preset collection that doesn’t alter the color of the product too much but focuses on making photos brighter and more vibrant!
- It’s also a good idea to keep the product close by as you edit to make sure you don’t steer away from the actual color of the item ( the last thing you want is a return because the color is way way off).
- 123Presets has a collection for clothes & boutique. Click HERE to see the Clothes & Boutique Mobile Presets
Customizing your presets:
Not all photos are the same so you may need to make a couple of adjustments to your photos after using a preset ( a slight increase in exposure or a little more white balance). And after you make these adjustments, you can save them as a new preset for future use! The presets you purchased can be used as a base to create new presets.
My favorite individual preset collections (which I frequently use) by 123Presets are Bright & Airy, Light & Airy, and the Minimal collection.
I tend to gravitate towards presets that have a clean and bright look ( especially since I can never get any good lighting).
After you purchase your presets:
- After you purchase your presets from 123Presets, you will get an email with a download link.
- Download instructions are included on the download pages after clicking on the download link. I recommend reading the instructions first before downloading and saving presets. Or you can CLICK HERE to read them.
- Save your presets to the Adobe Lightroom mobile app.
- You will have to save each individual preset and name each file. For example, when I downloaded Bright & Airy, my file names were: Bright & Airy_1, Bright & Airy_2, etc.
So are Lightroom Presets worth buying?
You tell me! I personally think they are. It transformed my basic photos into professional photos and I couldn’t be happier.
Oh and don’t forget! If you’re a business owner, you might want to ask your accountant if 123Presets might be considered a business expense!
